An Unexpected but Necessary Deviation

This is going to mark the first time in the history of this blog in which I will write a mini-political rant. Yes, occasionally I've mentioned my, er, distaste and disgust for Pres. Bush and his facist regime, but even that I've attempted to make light-hearted and funny and, of course, connected to a discussion about Taco Bell.

BUT WHAT THE HELL?

I've just read a cnn.com report about Condi's visit to Lebanon. She wants the U.N. and/or NATO to send a combined 30,000 troops to Lebanon. Oh does she? This announcement after the U.S. has declared that it will not send ANY troops to the region because we don't have enough troops (you liked hearing that, eh, Iran and North Korea?). So the U.S. and Condi have the audicity to tell the international world what they should do with no intention of helping them? I am all for sending troops to help the Lebanese government gain some semblence of control, and I think the U.S. should be involved in these talks but only if it is willing to participate in matters other than telling other countries what to do (which they should do). My god, it is obxious and infuriating. I shouldn't be surprised, I know. This behavior is par for the course of the Bush Administration, but I needed to vent and thus am taking advantage of my blog.

We should build Taco Bells in Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and Iraq. I think this could all be settled over a couple of spicy crunchwraps and a nachos bellgrande.

wow! i am pissed about the whole situation as well. The argument against going in is saying that Hesbola is amongst civillians and any attempt to bomb them would hurt civillians...also noting that another "hesbola" will form after all these bombings. the other side says that if we don't bomb the crap outta southern lebanon that hesbola will win. ENOUGH! Didn't we all learn in kindergarten not to "hit back"? Yes, Hesbola was trying to take on too powerful an enemy, but come on ISrael! Ya really thik Hesbola has the power to ruin any of your infrastructure? Lebanon was already a mess before you went in...ISRAEL IS WHIPPED BY THE UNITED STATES! and i am sorry to all of those religious folks out there, but alot of this shit starts with religion....religion mixed with politics that is. believe what you want to believe, but keep it out of govenment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry that was my rant.

oye.
first, mm, agreed. in one of my "lighthearted" rants, i mentioned that the impending civil war in iraq could be quelched by US troops, Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds all sharing some bean burritos and crunchwraps. i dont see why we can't include the entire Middle East region in that equation. should work.

and whip, don't you think the US is whipped by Israel too. I mean, that's why we don't want to go help Lebanon--we don't want to be seen as "aiding the enemy". well, that and not having any troops to send. oh, and i think it's too late to keep religion out of government, especially in this region. and i understand it more so than i do in the united states becuase it really has historical bonds. in any case, no one knows what to do but telling everyone what to do and not doing it yourself can't be the solution.

well, about israel...i think it is a little bit of both. we are whipped by them and they are whipped by us. hey...i guess i am whipped too! that's why they call me whipcreamy!

but a lot of our money aids Israel and it is really starting to piss me off. there is a conservative think tank in the US called the project for a new american century and part of that plan is to invade all of the middle east....i just see Israel helong the US out by going into Lebanon. Then the US can say, "it was Israel, not us!" The US and Israel are having mad sex.

how the hell are we going to invade the middle east? all the troops we didn't have to send to lebanon we are sending to bagdad because we NEED MORE TROOPS IN A PLACE WE DON'T BELONG. not following? it's not my wording.
